Must-Haves For The Minimalist Traveler

So, you’re a traveler. Your Instagram feed looks like it’s straight out of National Geographic, and you’re constantly curing your wanderlust one dreamy landscape at a time. Most of your followers are simply along for the ride, getting extreme joy just looking at the amazing places you go.

But you know it’s much more than that. Traveling is a soul-quencher. It’s a mind-opener. It’s something you can’t help but crave, and the more you do it, the more intensely you crave it.

When you travel a lot, you learn to become more minimalistic. You don’t want the things you carry to burden you, and the less you can get away with, the better. The minimalist traveler (ahem, that’s you) is savvy and knows how to perfectly pack his or her bag with finesse and intention. There is nothing “extra” about you.

Because you know that packing light is important, you should make sure you’re not missing any of the must-haves for every minimalist traveler. There are a few things you should never embark on an adventure without, such as…

Wool

It’s smart to take a look at the fabrics you’re bringing, and the best choice is wool. Not cotton, and not something synthetic. Plain, natural wool. With a light wool shirt (or pants or underpants or socks), you’ll rarely have to wash it, meaning you only have to bring one. Wool doesn’t smell, dries quickly, regulates body temperature, and doesn’t wrinkle.

Smartphone

With all technology has enabled for us, it’s be silly not to bring your smartphone with you on a trip. You can use it to book tickets, read books, take pictures, navigate, Skype, and more, combining many uses into one small pocket-friendly device. However, be smart to keep it on airplane mode so you can fully immerse in your adventures and not get caught up reading emails or surfing social media.

Razor

Just because you’re off the grid doesn’t mean you have to live like a caveman. Stay well-groomed with a razor that will be worth packing. The Razor is the minimalist traveler’s go-to pick because of its special design that ensures it dries quicker and lasts much longer than other razors. Plus it comes housed in a protective case perfect for keeping it clean and sharp during your travels.

Documents

Last but not least, you of course need your travel documents. Make sure you put them in a very safe place like some plastic bags, then hide them away in a secret compartment of your bag. It’s not the worst thing in the world if you lose your passport, but it’s certainly an inconvenient headache. Make sure you have at least one photocopy of it as well.
